Dr. Anne Padias Retires

Dr. Anne Buyle Padias has decided to retire after 35 years at the University of Arizona, where she has served as the Director of CBC's Academic Services as well as the Instructional Laboratory Manager for the Organic Chemistry Labs and a Lecturer in Organic Chemistry. Dr. Padias earned her PhD in Chemistry at the State University of Ghent, Belgium in 1975. She then came to the University of Arizona to work as a postdoc with Prof. H. K. Hall, Jr.  Her research dealt with the synthesis of highly strained monomers to obtain novel polymers and the elucidation of polymerization mechanisms. She has touched many lives over her long career in the CBC Department. We wish Dr. Padias the best in her retirement.
